“Tribal marks are not that bad. They are not barbaric, except that they make the Yoruba women less attractive to the none natives. Here in my place in the Southeastern state of Nigeria we also had marks and drawings on women bodies to make them more elegant and beautiful. The liquid were gotten out of plants and leaves. We the ‘educated’ also called it barbaric but the white man stole the custom and called it Tatoo and we now go there to buy from them what we already had.
There is yet another one that we came to know as circumcision for our girl child.
Because of the same ‘education’ we agreed that it is barbaric and we rename it ‘female genital mutilation” for whatever this means. The same whiteman stole it and called it Libioplasty(Labialplasty) and sell it back to us for $30,000 per procedure. Please Google this out.
We once had herbs that cures all our diseases without side effects but the custom was replaced by raw chemicals that destroys the whole body with several side effects.
Ekpo & Obon masquerades that we had are extinct today because we threw it away and the same white man stole it and rename it Halloween and we are buying the face masks and shirts to decorate our bodies with it.
African man had many wives and children who worked together for a common good. In fact a senior wife would marry a young girl for her husband. Every woman met her ultimate desire of a husband but ‘education’ said it is wrong for Africans to marry nore than 1 wife. Today many African daughters are without husbands and infidelity is at its peak. But the same white man is gradually heading to polygamy. Donald Trump is a leading example.
Educated Africans should know that knowledge, customs and practices are both spiritual and physical and Africans had abundance of them. They are acceptable to God. We were not created with NOTHING. God provided us with something to tell the world. Condemning them is unholy and derision of the magnanimity of our God.”
