Veteran Nigerian actor, Jide Kosoko, has disclosed that he gets scared whenever actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele offers him an acting role because of her demanding approach to filmmaking.
The septuagenarian actor made the disclosure during an interview on the African A-List podcast, describing Akindele as a perfectionist who can shoot a single scene up to 15 times before she is satisfied.
Kosoko said: “Whenever Funke calls me for a job, I am always scared; you can shoot a scene 15 times.
“She may come the following day thinking of shooting another scene, but then she will say ‘We have to shoot those scenes again because of the plates they brought.
“Funke is very hardworking; even if you are a man, you can’t match her energy.”
The veteran actor, who has featured in Akindele’s Jenifa productions, acknowledged that Akindele’s attention to detail makes working with her particularly demanding.
Akindele is one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful filmmakers, with her productions recording major successes at the Nigerian box office.
