The heir to Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerian President, Yusuf Buhari, may be flown to Germany for further medical treatment. Yusuf has been receiving treatment at Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, but reports say he has remained unresponsive.

Two renowned neurosurgeons, Professor Temitayo Shokunbi and Professor Bello Bala Shehu, the current vice chancellor of Federal University Birnin-Kebbi, have been taking charge of his treatment.

Recall that Yusuf and his friend, Bashir Gwandu, were severely injured due to motorcycle accident along Gwarimpa road in Abuja on December 26, 2017.

He could not be immediately airlifted outside Nigeria due to the severity of injuries to his brain, reports say.

According to Sahara Reporters, Yusuf will now be transferred to St. Josefs Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany, on Wednesday night.

He will be accompanied by his mother, Aisha Buhari, the daughter of the President, Mrs. Halima Buhari-Sheriff, the personal physician to the first lady, Dr. Kamal Mohammed and three other aides.

  1. Our prayers and best wishes go to the family of President Buhari. No one should be fascinated by the thought of a family dealing with a tragedy no matter the politics of the affected people. May the young man recover fully and restore joy and happiness in the first family.
