That was Gani Fawehinmi standing at the front of his jail house (cell) on October 14, 1996 at the Bauchi prison. The prison was said to have been built in 1820. The jail house was a mud-structured building. The wall surface, plastered with cement had all been eroded with time. One hundred and forty six years after it was built, there had been no repairs and no renovation. Under that terrible condition, the Nigerian military dumped the erudite lawyer and human right fighter to live with the lizards. (Credits: M Akinsola, SeeMeSeeNigeria)
