Just like Nigeria is polarized by ethnicity and religion, so it is polarized by affinity and interest. Those who were shouting hell when PDP was in govt. have largely remained silent now that their man is in charge. This is one of Nigeria’s problem. Ordinarily, it ought to be the poor and cheated against the oppressor regardless of political parties they belong.
To defend honesty his trial must be public. Anything secret is political and not just to the accused. We deserve to know the truth openly.
The idea of secret trial will definitely play well into the hands of critics. The atrocities that were revealed to have been committed by Dasuki and his associates definitely warrants a televised trial so that the world can see with the federal government. I am sure the Government would not ordinarily have any problem with that comparing the level of atrocities alleged to have been committed and the overwhelming evidence in their disposal.
