There is another account as to what happened at the Federal Prison facility on Afao road, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State today.
The account has it that some gunmen early Monday morning invaded Ado-Ekiti Prison on Afao Road and attempted to free inmates.
The Controller of the Ado-Ekiti Prison, Mr. Fadipe Abolarin Kehinde, was said to have confirmed the attack, but denied any loss of life during the attack.
“It was not a jail break, but an attack on the prison (break)). “The main entrance of the prison was broken. What happened is that we were attacked from outside not from within.
They came massively with different weapons.” On those that escaped from the prison, Fadipe said his men were already out on their trail to re-arrest them.
It would be recalled that an earlier account indicated that it was an explosion that occurred at the Prison.
