  1. Something is wrong with the Northern elites, for real. Why these folks have no respect for womanhood continues to baffle me, just as it continues to amaze me that Northern women, no matter their level of enlightenment, remain dumb and subservient to their crooked men. So this Babangida’s small girl-daughter, whose birth at Dodan Barracks we witnessed as if it just happened yesterday, is being given to an old fart as a third wife? Does it mean that this young woman did not obtain any education, despite her father’s ill gotten wealth? If she obtained some education, why does she not know enough to shun this type of primitive marriage-type? Why would a young woman from a wealthy family agree to being a third wife to a man old enough to have fathered her in this 21st century? If marrying multiple wives is good, why did her father marry only her mother? Why has Babangida not learnt his lesson from his elder daughter who has been in and out of different marriages due to her being forced into marriages with men with multiple wives and who she likely was not in love with?

Something is certainly wrong with educated men of the North of Nigeria and if their women are going to continue to tolerate their primitivism and misogyny, then civilization will pass them by. There is no justifiable reason on earth that a young woman of Halimath Babangida’s caliber should be married to a man with two other wives or even one wife. I doubt that this would happen were Maryam alive. Tufiakwa!
